Why did Mark Hughes not play Bulmer Elano against Chelsea?

Elano is one of Man City’s top players and he is not currently injured. I’m just wondering why Mark Hughes didn’t play him against Chelsea. Also is he likely to play their upcoming fixtures?

Elano had been playing up front but he had to play Robinho and Jo. He didn`t play him in midfield as he needed a defensively stronger midfield against chelsea, and i`m not sure that he does enough hard work as far as hughes is concerned (he had already left him out against sunderland). Against chelsea he was a luxury we couldn`t afford. He`ll definitely play in the upcoming games especially as he gets to train and bond with robinho and jo. It`s a long season and i`m sure Elano will be a big part of it.

Possibly resting him after the international fixtures. Maybe he was feeling tired.

Or Mark Hughes did it to spite my fantasy team! :-(

Thumbs down for the truth haha

Probably because he has an embarrasement of riches up front at the moment
