is whey protein powder good for a 15 year old boy who weight lifts daily?

im 15 years old and rly thin im 112pounds and 169cm tall i was wondering if whey protein powder would make me gain weight and strength and get buffer.

I brought the chocolate whey protein powder, and to be honest they taste horrible! I mixed it with milk like they told me to and seriously I can’t take the smell(taste like like my medicine). So I’ve tried mixing with my smoothie. Peanut butter smoothie+whey. Strawberrybananna+whey, but they don’t really taste that good. Does anyone know what I should try that I can take in and something sweet but not too sweet:) thanks.

    2 things…

    1. Whey protein will help you gain weight.

    2. At 15 you should not be lifting daily. feel free to be in the weight room… 3 days a week or so, but don’t go overboard.

Girls actually like the funny skinny kid, better than the beefed up jerk anyway… trust me.

First off get some education on strength training. Due to your age and growth cycles, you could be doing more harm than good for yourself. As far as using a pure natural whey without fillers and preservatives is a great idea. Make sure you are ingesting whole proteins as well as whey supplementation. Good luck!

    ok buddy first off
it is OK to train in the gym everyday.. i encourage it, the only thing is that your muscles need 2 – 3 days to recover from your last workout otherwise you wont get any results.. in fact you’ll be working backwards.
how it works is your muscles “grow” in that 2 – 3 day recovery so it is important that you give yourself that time to rest
this doesn’t mean you workout one day and wait 2 days to workout again.. you can isolate your body into muscle groups.. eg Arms, Chest, Back, Shoulders, Legs, Abs ..ect
this way you can workout everyday and not damage yourself.. as long as you give yourself the proper time to recover
    Onto protein
    WHEY?? are you kidding?
whey protein is one of the worst protein powders on the market it is known to rot your intestinal tracks.. literally
i highly recommend hemp protein…Hold on give me a minute.. no i am not referring to marijuana this is completely legal

I suggest getting the vanilla cream whey protein. It’s not bad and you can put just about anything in it to change the flavoring. I’ve been going to the gym for about a year and I just take one protein shake in the morning and then one and hour or less after my workout. I also just take a daily men’s vitamins and two calcium tablets a day. Its natural and its working pretty well.

I agree with the other poster, whatever brand you picked was horrible. One flavor that I have found that trumps all others is Kaizen’s Strawberry Banana Whey Protein:
    http://www.bestpricenutrition.com/kaizen-100-whey-protein-5-lbs-pr-19324.html

Kaizen is an extremely reputable company that owns their own manufacturing facilities and I love the fact that they send us certificates of analysis of their protein powders showing that they contain exactly what the label says — they are a company you can trust implicitly!

Moreover, the protein is “cleaner” than almost every other affordable whey protein in the industry. There are minimal carbohydrates and fats per scoop and it is predominately a whey isolate, whereas cheap, bulk whey proteins are usually predominately whey concentrate. Make sure you check the ingredients before you buy bulk whey.

I use to put peanut butter and a half of a banana. It tasted great to me. If nothing helps you should try buying a better whey protein. Muscle milk taste really good…….
