I am male, 20 yrs old, 145 lbs and around 5’6 to 5’7. I am thin for the most part besides my belly (which is not spreading to love handles). i was thinking of going on a whey protein diet as a way to lose weight and gain some muscle mass on my arms, chest – upper body basically. is this a good idea? any tips would be really helpful. thanks in advance!
thanks for the tips and yes i forgot to add but i haev been doing weights for a whiel now and i see my muscles toning but not really increasing in mass so i figured maybe protein supplements would help. also, i meant i’d add it into my diet, continue eating what i normally eat, which is pretty healthy but just throw in a protein shake once a day after i work out. does that make sense? or does it still sound liek a bad idea, thanks
I’m pretty happy with my body except my forearms, there 2 skinny which makes me look skinnier then I really am. So I’m going to start working out on my forearms and I have whey protein and creatine, should I take it?

I would try eating other healthy foods and incorporate whey protein supplements into your daily diet as well. There is no substitute for whole foods.
Also, workout. Your body isn’t just going to place muscle fibers onto your chest and arms because you eat more protein. You need stimulus.
To be safe i should say no, if you look into it diets usually never work.
if you want to lose weight and gain muscle you SHOULD eat a variety of foods rich in protein and low in trans fats. it is not wise to eat mainly whey. but it is still recommended that you eat a diet rich in grains as well as the protein. you should continue to work out and perhaps eat a larger amount of simple carbohydrates for a higher ATP count.
APT (Adenosine Phosphate) allows the process of cell division to go more smoother and you’ll eventually build more muscle because the ATP allows you to…well its hard to explain but..you can like sprint longer without running out of energy… its basically like giving your body a higher gear to kick into.
another thing you should think about is a substance called Cretin.
Cretin is also like the simple carbs and gives your body a HUGE ATP count. The best thing to do is eat a multitude of the 5 food groups and consider the Cretin.
Yes, you can definitely benefit from adding whey protein to your diet. You should try and consume at least 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight, per day. Whey can come in handing if you are short on your diet, or don’t have enough time.

dont take creatine, i heard creatine is all just water wieght, protien shakes should be just fine..
